Richard Liu (Qiangdong Liu) has been the CEO of JD.com since its founding in 2004. He established JD.com as an e-commerce business dedicated to providing consumers with the best possible shopping experience, online or off. From day 1 his vision was to provide authentic products to customers at amazing speeds.
Today the company is known for its strict zero tolerance policy toward counterfeits and same- and next-day delivery that covers an area with a population of more than 1 billion people.
Under Mr. Liu’s leadership, JD.com listed on NASDAQ in June of 2014 and in 2016 it became the first Chinese Internet company to make the Fortune 500 List. He has also been named to Fortune’s list of the “World’s Greatest Leaders.”
He holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Renmin University in Beijing.
Ye Lan is the chief public affairs officer of JD.com. He was appointed in August 2015 and oversees a number of key operational areas including public policy and external stakeholder relations. Prior to his current role, he served as JD.com’s chief marketing officer, leading the procurement, sales and public policy teams.
Ye has over 18 years of experience in sales and marketing in the Greater China region. Prior to joining JD.com, he served as executive vice president at Acer Group from 2010 to 2012, as president and chief executive officer of Founder Technology Group Corporation, a China-based computer producer listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, and as vice president of sales at Lenovo Group.
He holds an EMBA degree from Tsinghua University in Beijing.
Rain Long (Yu Long) is the chief human resources officer and general counsel of JD.com. She was appointed in August 2012 and heads the company’s legal and talent management functions.
Prior to joining JD.com, she served as senior vice president, general counsel, and chief compliance officer of UTStarcom Holdings Corp., a NASDAQ-listed provider of interactive, IP-based network solutions, and as the APAC Legal Affairs Director for the Switzerland-listed Myriad Group AG where she was also a member of the China Executive Management Team.
Rain graduated from Southwest Political and Law University in Chongqing with a bachelor’s degree in economic law and holds an EMBA from the China Europe International Business School. She is a qualified attorney in the People’s Republic of China.
Sidney Huang (Xuande Huang) is the chief financial officer of JD.com. He was appointed in September 2013.
Prior to joining JD.com, he served as chief financial officer with Pactera Technology International Ltd, a NASDAQ-listed IT services provider, and its predecessor company, VanceInfo Technologies Inc., from 2006 to 2013. He was also the co-president of VanceInfo Technologies Inc. from 2011 to 2012 and its chief operating officer from 2008 to 2010. Prior to Pactera Technology International, Sidney was CFO at two other China-based companies in the technology and internet sectors between 2004 and 2006.
Sidney is currently a director of Bitauto Holdings Limited, an internet company listed on the NYSE.
He obtained his Masters of business administration with distinction from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University as an Austin Scholar. He graduated from Bernard M. Baruch College as class valedictorian with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Shengqiang Chen is the chief executive officer of JD Finance, JD.com’s financial technology business unit. He was appointed in September 2013, and brings over 15 years of experience in the financial sector in China. Prior to becoming chief executive officer of JD Finance, he served as chief financial officer of JD.com from 2012 to 2013, as vice president of finance from 2009 to 2012, and as financial controller from 2007 to 2008.
Shengqiang holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Beijing Technology and Business University and an MBA from Beijing Institute of Technology in Beijing. He has also completed the EMBA program at the China Europe International Business School.
Chen Zhang is the CTO of JD.com, in charge of driving R&D growth in big data and cloud computing, as well as technical support for the daily operation of JD Mall. Chen has over 20 years of experience in software development and management.
Prior to joining JD.com, he worked at Yahoo for 18 years, at one point responsible for the development of Yahoo Messenger and more recently heading the global research and development center at Yahoo Beijing. Before that, he worked in DEC and Oracle Corporation as head of technology.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Indiana University Bloomington.
